Oh dear!

While we were at Lake Argyle we realised that our little Snailhouse was seriously wounded. OHHHHH!
Because she is so brave she just grundles through whatever challenge we throw at her. She had her twenty fifth birthday this year and in human years that is way past retirement. Older than I am actually. But getting rid of her was a bit like shooting your dog!
After much frowning and serious and silent cogitation by himself, we decided to leave out the Gibb River Road this trip. Deb was also not well and she and Ian decided to head home.
After a quick detour to Mitre 10 in Kununurra, on the way to Parry Creek Farm, we had a plan.
This was our arrival in K. More black lightning. These fires are deliberately lit.

The problem with the little snail was the walls at the front of the van were parting company from the internal cupboards and showing an inclination to bow outwards. Not a good look really!
However she now has very tasteful strips of Jarrah timber bolted to her outside that work like a corset really. She has sucked in her cheeks and looks great - well sort of. It just means we are stared at more than usual.
We will still visit the Bungle Bungles and head back to Alice via the Tamani Track but GENTLY. We will get her home for her very grand retirement party.

Parry Creek Farm was magic. Once the repairs were done (punctuated by many swims in their very cool pool) we settled into exploring. We visited the above lagoon several times to check out the birds. On the last evening we were stunned to see this croc take two ducks from the surface. I suspect the little bloke on the left may have lost his family.
Wyndham was near by so we checked out the port and viewed the convergence of five rivers from the lookout at sunset.
I was sad to not be able to find any evidence of the meatworks and the shipping of beef that floated into my memory from a school project Eons ago. It is all iron ore these days.
