Haven't quite left Lake Argyle

When they flooded the Ord River and created this inland ocean called Lake Argyle they flooded the land of a very famous pioneer family - the Duracks of Argyle Station. Robbie I thought of you as I looked at the photos of Mary Durack the writer. What an amazing family. Fortunately there was a great book for sale.
This was their original home.
It was dismantled and moved stone by stone and now stands graciously on a bluff above the lake. The grave stones were brought but the family still lie at rest below the water.
I learned while I was wandering around that when this Kapok bush is in flower the indigenous believe the croc eggs are ready to be harvested and eaten. The challenge of course is not to be eaten while you are harvesting.
