However!

However we decided position was not everything and proceeded to enjoy our site and Broome. Because we spent all the time we were at the van outside (the heat) we introduced ourselves to anyone who stared at us or wandered by. Met a gorgeous young family who lived there, out walking their toddler late one evening because "Joland" didn't want to go to sleep. Could have brought them all home. Another story.

Sorry but the first day we went out to the Broome Bird Observatory for a two hour session with a gorgeous young Uni lecturer from the Netherlands on shore birds. Her PhD was on the migratory habits of the banded Godwit. There were only four of us in the group she loaded into a battered old Toyota troopie before charging off onto the shore dunes of Roebuck Bay.

Within half an hour Pa was in love. They were able to chat about research funding, tracking devices, satelites and stuff the rest of us didn't understand. We both really enjoyed the day and I was able to identify 13 species I had not before.  Sorry!

We also enjoyed the history of the town especially the pearling industry. The museum was excellent. Loved the luggers.

Restored version.
