New plan

Because the Snail does not like going back the way she came, after looking at the maps the decision was made to head across to Broom and down the coast to Dampier.
We called at the garage in Halls Creek that was the scene of the pervious tarmac rage to  fill up - which we did.
However the garage had run out of diesel. The streets were lined with very miffed toadhouses waiting for the truck to arrive!!
It was about an hour down the road before we passed the tanker. Poor toads!

We called at Mary Lagoon for morning tea to discover that there were already 40 or so toadhouses set up for the night. I could understand as it was very pretty.

We went on to Fitzroy Crossing and out to the original Inn, at the crossing,
up river. It was NAIDOC Week and the Community were having a party in the bar. Met a gorgeous black lady who was packing up the Art Exhibition. I was able to buy several carved boab pods.

There was a good feeling about this very old building.

Please note the indig coloured rainbow across this photo!!
The Fitzroy River is magnificent.
