The lass in the "Thargo" Hospital musuem filled us in on what life was like during the flood when the pub ran out of smokes and grog. She was not happy that the authorities would fly in bread and easter eggs but none of the really important things!! Didn't the government know that working hard and playing hard are part of the outback culture? She said it was the first time anyone locked their houses if they had any grog stashed away.
We camped the night on a small lake on Wanco Station and I know this will not float everyone's boat but I saw my first pink eared ducks. Just google them and you will see how cute they are.
